FAQ

Advice For Non-Prescribers

If you are a non-prescriber, you’ll need to work with a prescribing partner to obtain clinical oversight, as the Botulinum toxins necessary for BOTOX® treatments are available by prescription only. A prescribing partner will also offer additional peace of mind and support when using prescription only agents to deal with any complications. We’re happy to advise you further on this – just contact us to find out more.

Upon successful completion of the assessment that will ensure your competency and safety for botox and dermal filler treatments, you will be awarded a Level 7 Certificate.

How long will it take to complete the Level 7 Certification course?

There is no set time period within which candidates must complete the course. The course is be taken at a pace that suits the candidate. Level 7 training can take 12 -18 months to complete from start. Derma Institute, however, advises that candidates strive to finish the course in the earliest time possible to keep up a momentum of professional development.

Who can take the Level 7 Course?

The Level 7 course can be undertaken by:

  • Doctors
  • Dentists
  • Pharmacists
  • Nurses
Can I take the Level 7 course if I'm not a prescriber?

Yes, you can. All you require to enrol for the Level 7 course with Derma Institute is a valid registration with your relevant licensing body

(GMC/GDC/NMC/GPhC, or the international equivalent). Completing the Level 7 course does not qualify a non-prescriber to prescribe Botox
as you would still be required to work alongside a prescriber who will take responsibility for the patient's treatment.

I have already completed a Foundation and/or Advanced training course with a different provider? Can I still enrol on the Derma Institute Level 7 Certificate?

Yes of course. If you already have completed your foundation or advanced course in Botox and dermal fillers, you would be able to redeem some amount of the total cost of the Level 7 course. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Must I use Derma Institute's aesthetic practitioners for my clinical mentorship for Level 7?

You don't have to. We are happy for you to complete your clinical mentoring requirements as long as it is with a recognised mentor having more than 3 years of experience in non-surgical aesthetic injectables treatments and also meets the other industry specified
requirements.

Where do I get a portfolio for recording my procedure log for the Level 7 Certificate?

Derma Institute will provide you with a portfolio for storing and logging all evidence of your logbook clinical mentoring procedures.

I already have vast experience in aesthetic injectables. Can I simply purchase your qualification and be able to use it?

For aesthetic practitioners already highly experienced in the field, you would be required to demonstrate your knowledge by passing our
assessment and submitting your portfolio of treatments, following which you will be issued our Level 7 certificate. The Recognition of Prior Learning Policy (RPL) allows provisions to be
made for practitioners with more than 3 years of experience.
